Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, will hold a special SIDBI Fund of Funds Incubator session on startup funding for students, teachers and incubation centres on Saturday. The event is designed to help student startups and college incubators understand how to access capital under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ₹1,000 crore UP Fund of Funds.
Representatives from Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) will lead a segment titled “How to Make a Start-up Investable”, focusing on business models, revenue strategies and financial planning needed to attract investors. Experts from the UP government, SIDBI and various Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) will explain investment options, eligibility norms, application procedures and steps to secure financial assistance. The session will also guide participants on preparing proposals, selecting suitable AIFs and building investor connections.
Each affiliated institution is expected to send two incubation coordinators and two innovators or startup founders. Registration was open through a Google form until July 16, as part of AKTU Innovation Hub’s effort to strengthen the startup ecosystem across its more than 750 affiliated colleges.
AKTU has been actively building startup infrastructure, with 330 startups already linked to its ecosystem, 120 commercialised and 80 patented. The university also runs an Incubator Empowerment Scheme, offering up to ₹2 lakh per institution to support hackathons, pitchathons and other entrepreneurship activities.
