Third Wave Coffee raises $43 million in funding led by WestBridge Capital

by admin

Third Wave Coffee, India’s homegrown quick-service coffee and food brand, has raised ₹408 crore ($43 million) in a new funding round led by existing investor WestBridge Capital. The round includes both primary and secondary capital, with participation from Creagis and other angel investors. The company will use the funds to accelerate geographic expansion, strengthen presence in existing markets, and scale new growth categories beyond coffee.

Third Wave Coffee currently runs more than 240 cafés across India and aims to reach 320 outlets by the end of this fiscal year. It plans to add around 100 new cafés every year and enter eight new geographies in the near term. In the past year, it has launched stores in Ahmedabad, Mangalore and Agra, and in June 2026 entered East India with three cafés in Kolkata. The brand is also evaluating expansion into Guwahati, Ranchi, Patna and Bhubaneswar.

Alongside its core coffee business, the company is expanding its food and beverage portfolio through its dessert brand Third Rush Desserts, signature non-coffee beverages, all-day menus, breakfast and savoury offerings, and seasonal limited-time products. Management says the new capital will support sustainable expansion with a focus on store-level economics, operational discipline and strengthening new consumption categories.

This is WestBridge Capital’s third major investment in Third Wave Coffee, after leading a $6 million Series A in 2021 and a $21 million Series B in 2022. The latest raise underlines investor confidence in India’s growing café culture and the brand’s strategy of combining coffee, desserts and food under one roof.
