State-owned power giant NTPC Limited has commenced commercial operations of a 38-megawatt (MW) solar power capacity at its Khavda Solar Energy Project in Gujarat. NTPC’s renewable energy push in Gujarat received further momentum when the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government on October 9, 2025. The agreement aims to develop solar parks and projects with a cumulative capacity of 10 GW and wind projects of 5 GW in the state.
The partnership was formalized during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Mehsana, Gujarat, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
